HEALTH INSURANCE LAW--DEADLINE!

By Jenifer M. Pinkham, Esquire

As I mentioned in previous articles, there are two forms that employers have to fill out, one form is the Employer Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure and the other is the Employee Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure. Employers must maintain the HIRD Form for a period of three (3) years. Please note that employers must file the Employer HIRD Form with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by November 15, 2007. The Employer HIRD Form is still under development, but should be available by October 1, 2007 on the Division of Unemployment Assistance website. Penalties for noncompliance will range between $1,000 - $5,000.
