Michael T. O’Neil is a Partner in the firm’s business law department and focuses primarily on general corporate matters of the closely-held business, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, business succession planning, debt financings, commercial agreements, including distribution and licensing agreements, and employment/non-competition contracts.

Mr. O’Neil represents clients in diverse industries, including technology-based companies, automobile dealerships, manufacturers, distributors, real estate developers and service companies, all with a particular focus on the issues of starting, owning, operating and selling closely-held businesses.

   that the next generation maintained control of the business while the older generation cashed out in
   order to finance their retirement

Professional Activities

Mr. O’Neil is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, as well as a member of the Boston Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Association.

Publications/Presentations

Mr. O’Neil served as Articles Editor for the Boston University Law Review.

Awards

Mr. O'Neil has been honored with the distinction of Massachusetts SuperLawyer Rising Stars, for 2009, which was published in Boston Magazine. The Rising Stars are under 40 years old, or have been practicing law for fewer than ten years. Only 2.5 percent of Massachusetts lawyers are named as Massachusetts Rising Stars.
